SOP FOR CLEANING OF SAMPLING EQUIPMENT

  1. OBJECTIVE:

    1. To lay down the procedure for Cleaning of sampler/ sampling equipment.

  2. SCOPE

    1. This procedure is applicable for cleaning of sampling equipments after sampling of materials.

  3. RESPONSIBILITY:

    1. Quality Control officer is responsible to follow procedure as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 

    2. QC Head is responsible for implementation and compliance of the procedure as per this SOP.

  5. PROCEDURE

    1. For Scoops / Spoons / Sampling Rods:

      1. Clean the sampler with running water.

      2. Use detergent / liquid soap to remove any adhering particles and rinse with plenty of tap water.

      3. Finally rinse with purified water and 70% IPA drying at room temperature. 

      4. Check the cleanliness visually. 

      5. For complete drying put the sampler in an oven at 60°C.after drying of sampler take out the sampler from oven and cool to room temperature. 

      6. Wrap the dried equipment in a polyethylene bag / Aluminum foil and store securely.

      7. The cleaned sampling equipment shall be used within 7 days.

    2. Sampling pipettes/ sampling tubes (Glass): 

      1. Clean the equipment with running tap water to remove adhering particles.

      2. Check the cleanliness visually.

      3. Rinse with distilled water and rinse with acetone to facilitate easy drying.

      4. Keep the washed pipettes or tubes for draining on the stand meant for the same.

      5. Dry them further in an oven if required.

      6. Wrap the dried sampling tools in polyethylene bag or Aluminium foil and secure them in the respective place.

      7. Put a status label on each sampling equipment after cleaning and drying .
