OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for Analytical Report Numbering System.
SCOPE:
This procedure is applicable for the assigning the Analytical Report (AR) Number to the different samples in Quality Control Laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITY:
Quality Control Officer / Executive is responsible to follow procedure as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP.
QC Head is responsible for implementation and compliance of the procedure as per this SOP.

PROCEDURE:
Analytical Report Number (AR Number) shall be allotted to all samples received for analysis in quality control Laboratory except raw material and packing material.
All the analytical data sheets and COA shall have that AR Number. The AR No. shall be generated by the Quality control department.
Separate register shall be maintained for the sample entry.

A typical example of first bulk sample received for analysis in the year 2016 shall be as follows:

Where
B: stands for bulk Sample.
16 is the two digit of the year of receipt of sample.
02 is the two digits of months of receipt sample.
01 is the two digits of date of receipt sample.
01is the serial no. of the sample received in one year.
