OBJECTIVE:
To lay down the procedure for Operation and Calibration of Oven.
SCOPE:
This procedure is applicable for Operation & Calibration of Oven at Quality Control Laboratory
RESPONSIBILITY:
Quality Control Officer / Executive are responsible to follow procedure as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP.
QC Head is responsible for implementation and compliance of the procedure as per this SOP.

PROCEDURE:
Procedure For Operation:
Ensure that the chamber, the flange and the rubber gaskets from the inside of the instrument are clean.
Check the mains supply.
Set the required temperature, place the sample inside properly and close the door.
Procedure For Calibration:
Perform the calibration at room temperature.
Calibrate the oven at the set temperature for 50°C, 100ºC, 150ºC and 200ºC separately.
Wait for some time and check the actual temperature by certified (calibrated) thermometer.
Acceptance criteria ±5.0°C of set temperature.
Note down the readings in the format as per Calibration Record of Oven (Annexure I).
Frequency: 6 months.
If the instrument is out of order, tag the instrument with label.
Inform to the service engineer for rectification. Calibrate the instrument after rectification.
