SOP FOR OPERATION AND CALIBRATION OF DIGITAL THERMOMETER

1. OBJECTIVE:

1. To lay down the procedure for Calibration of Digital Thermometers.

2. SCOPE: 

1. This procedure is applicable for the Calibration of Digital Thermometers of the quality control lab.

3. RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Quality Control Officer / Executive are responsible to follow procedure as per the procedure mentioned in this SOP. 

2. QC Head is responsible for implementation and compliance of the procedure as per this SOP.

5. PROCEDURE: 

1. CALIBRATION

1. Calibration of a digital thermometer shall be done by the outside calibration agency.

2. Acceptance Criteria of a digital thermometer: A digital thermometer shall be suitable for use only if the difference of temperature values between the calibrated thermometer and the thermometer undergoing calibration is not more than ±1°C.

3. Frequency of calibration :  Yearly.
